Burial*a 3 Mar 1897St. Joseph's, Union City, Canadian Co., Oklahoma, USA, The cemetery ground was donated to St. Joseph's Church by Nicholas Joseph Clasen. It is said that when a new church was built, they wanted to move the cemetery closer. The owners of the land next to the church would not sell just 5 or 10 acres, but only the entire 80 acres. So Nicholas purchased the entire 80 acres, donated what the church needed for the cemetery, and farmed the rest. He then moved his two baby girls to the new cemetery next to the church.4,5
