Rudy Ramsey
Rudy is the president of Rams' Island Software (RIS),
a company he formed in 1989. RIS is a small
software-development and consulting firm located in Parker, Colorado. The
company name has a genealogical origin. In medieval Scotland, as people
were beginning to make use of family names, the inhabitants of a place
called "Rams' Island" came to be known as "Ramsay".

With a Ph.D.
in experimental psychology and a 30-year background in software development,
Rudy spends part of his time designing and implementing his own software
products, and part of his time providing ergonomic and software-design
consulting for others. If this seems like a strange combination to you,
you can check out his consulting brochure, and
maybe his resume. Ah, the wonders of the Web!

 |
These days, RIS's main product line is the VENDINFO
Product Information System. VENDINFO is a system for conveying software
product information and distribution permissions from the author to distributors
and users. It's well on its way to revolutionizing the shareware industry,
and has implications for the "retail" software industry, as well.
If you're a shareware author, sysop, disk vendor, CD-ROM publisher, or
even an end-user of shareware products, you need to know about VENDINFO.
